The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality of materials, processes, and workmanship on-site, ensuring that all work adheres to industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety guidelines.
This role will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of construction projects in challenging terrain.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage the QA/QC procedures for construction projects in swampy, wetland, and waterlogged areas, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Perform regular inspections and audits of construction sites, materials, and processes to ensure they meet project specifications, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
Review and approve quality control plans, method statements, and project specifications to ensure they align with best practices for construction in challenging environments.
Conduct material and soil testing to assess the suitability of construction materials for swampy or wetland conditions, ensuring that they meet required quality and durability standards.
Monitor the performance of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards and that materials provided are suitable for construction in unstable or waterlogged ground.
Develop and enforce corrective actions for any identified quality issues, ensuring that they are addressed promptly to avoid project delays.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and environmental specialists to ensure that quality control measures align with environmental preservation guidelines and minimize negative impacts on wetland areas.
Review and document any non-conformances, ensuring that corrective and preventive actions are taken and that records are maintained in compliance with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
Ensure the use of appropriate testing equipment and quality control methods, including geotechnical assessments, to ensure the safety and durability of structures in swampy and waterlogged environments.
Prepare and maintain QA/QC reports and documentation, tracking progress and ensuring that quality objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Train and mentor site staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices, ensuring that all workers are equipped to follow quality control measures effectively.
Collaborate with the project team to resolve quality-related issues quickly and efficiently, minimizing disruptions to project timelines.
Ensure proper inspection and testing of materials used on-site, including conducting tests for moisture, water resistance, and structural integrity.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of [10] years of experience as a QA/QC Engineer in the construction industry, particularly in swampy, wetland, or waterlogged environments.

Knowledge of environmental regulations and how they apply to construction in sensitive or challenging areas such as wetlands, swamps, and aquatic environments.
Familiarity with testing methods for construction materials, geotechnical analysis, and the ability to assess soil conditions and material suitability in unstable terrain.
Proficiency in using QA/QC software and systems to document and track inspections, test results, and quality issues.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify quality issues, assess risks, and implement corrective actions quickly and effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with construction teams, clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
