Mechanical Fabrication Supervisor at CET Power Projects Limited

CET Power  Projects Limited is a leading operator in the captive/embedded power industry in Nigeria. It provides power to organizations with both mid-layered and industrial-scale operations requiring power either for short-term (EPP) or long-term (IPP), on an outsourced basis.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mechanical Fabrication Supervisor

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Manage fabricators, welders, and other mechanical workers to ensure high-quality work output.
• Supervise and oversee the mechanical fabrication process, ensuring the design and specifications are followed including:
  • Ensure all mechanical parts and assemblies are fabricated to precise specifications and that finished products meet both company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure that all welding activities comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
  • Monitor the performance of welding personnel and regular inspections of welds to ensure that all welds quality standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication/welding related issues and challenges.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure designs and drawings are accurate and feasible for fabrication.
• Coordinate the daily workflow and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Track project progress and resolve any production delays or issues.
• Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment:
  • Ensure the fabrication team follows all safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a safe working environment and conduct regular safety briefings and risk assessments.
  • Ensure the correct handling of materials and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct performance evaluations for welding personnel and recommend improvements or disciplinary actions when necessary.

Skills & Qualifications

• Certified fabricator/welder with expertise in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role in fabrication/welding operations.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication/welding processes, equipment, materials, and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with CAD software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of welding codes and regulations.
• Health and Safety certifications

Experience:

• Proven experience as a supervisor or manager in mechanical fabrication, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
• Hands-on experience with welding, machining, and assembly processes.
