We seek to engage a dedicated Primary Mathematics Teacher.
The Job holder will be responsible for teaching mathematics to pupils in Primary Year 6.
The ideal candidate is expected to have a deep understanding of the British Primary Mathematics curriculum, a passion for primary mathematics education and the ability to engage students in their learning journey.
Job Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging mathematics lessons that align with the school's curriculum and standards.
Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Develop lesson plans that include instructional strategies, formative and summative assessments, and differentiation for diverse learners.
Monitor and assess student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, and provide timely feedback to students and parents on academic performance.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and other required documentation.
Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and enthusiasm for mathematics through engaging and hands-on learning activities.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary lessons and improve the school's academic programs.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Effectively manage students’ behaviour, using established school policies and procedures.
Maintain effective and open communication with parents and guardians regarding students’ progress and well-being.
Attend parent-teacher meetings and conferences as required.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and other relevant data.
Job Requirements
A first degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or any related field (not below the Second Class Lower grade).
Teaching qualification registerable with the TRCN -TeachersRegistration Council of Nigeria - B. Ed, NCE, PGDE, PGCE etc.
Not less than 4 years experience in teaching Mathematics at various levels in a British International school.
Presentable and professional in his/her conduct
Strong command of Mathematical concepts across levels.
Able to leverage on collaborative tools to enhance and captivate learners.
Good understanding of students differentiated learning strategies.
Must be technology-driven.
Must be a project-based teacher.
Good organization and time management skills
Good Communication skills both verbal and written.
Creative and innovative.
