Job Title: Chief Security Officer (CSO) - Estate
Location: Eti-Osa, Lagos
Reports To: Estate Owner / Estate Manager
Job Summary
The Chief Security Officer (CSO) for the estate is responsible for overseeing the security of all property, buildings, residents, staff, and assets.
This includes physical security systems, staff management, emergency response planning, and crisis management.
The CSO will ensure that all security protocols are in place and followed to protect the estate and its occupants from risks and threats, while maintaining a discreet, high level of service for the estate.
Work closely with the Estate Manager, other senior staff, and the estate owner to ensure security measures align with operational and personal requirements.
Provide regular security updates and incident reports to estate management and owners, maintaining clear and detailed documentation of security-related activities.
Serve as the point of contact for any security-related issues, ensuring swift communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Surveillance & Technology Oversight:
Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of surveillance equipment such as cameras, motion detectors, and other security technologies.
Monitor surveillance feeds to ensure real-time assessment of security conditions across the estate.
Stay updated on the latest security technologies and recommend upgrades to improve security efficiency.
Vendor and Contractor Management:
Manage relationships with external security contractors, such as security alarm companies, private security firms, and maintenance vendors.
Negotiate contracts and ensure service providers meet the estate's security needs.
Oversee contracts for security-related services, such as access control systems and surveillance equipment.
Visitor & Guest Management:
Oversee the security protocol for managing guests, visitors, and contractors entering the estate.
Ensure that all visitors are properly screened and escorted, adhering to estate security rules.
Provide guidance on best practices for maintaining guest safety and privacy.
Preferred Qualifications
A degree or certification in security management, criminal justice, or a related field.
Experience in managing security for high-net-worth individuals or luxury estates.
First Aid/CPR certification and experience with medical emergencies.
Background in law enforcement, military service, or private security.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Chief Security Officer, Estate Security Manager, or in a similar senior security role.
Strong knowledge of security systems (surveillance, access control, alarm systems) and physical security operations.
Extensive experience in crisis management, emergency planning, and incident response.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a security team.
Ability to assess and mitigate risks, creating and enforcing policies that safeguard people and assets.
Discretion and professionalism, particularly in a high-net-worth or luxury environment.
Ability to interact diplomatically with estate owners, guests, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Knowledge of relevant local laws and regulations regarding security and privacy.
