Job Description
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the Human Resources function within the business group to improve organizational effectiveness, enhance employee engagement, and manage talent effectively.
This role involves developing HR strategies that align with the group's business objectives, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and fostering a high-performance culture.
The CEO will provide advice to the Chairman and the Board/Senior Leadership on HR issues, oversee organizational development, and maintain operational excellence.
Also, the CEO will build relationships with stakeholders to strengthen the market position of all business units within the group.
Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership:
Develop and execute HR strategies that align with the group's mission, vision, and business objectives.
Provide strategic direction on organizational design, workforce planning, talent acquisition, and retention.
Lead HR transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
Talent Management and Development:
Oversee talent management programs, including recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, and succession planning.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Implement leadership development programs to build a strong leadership pipeline.
Employee Engagement and Culture:
Drive employee engagement initiatives to enhance productivity and workplace satisfaction.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Promote a positive organizational culture that aligns with company values and goals.
Compensation and Benefits:
Design and implement competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
Ensure pay equity and compliance with labour regulations.
Review and optimize employee reward and recognition programs.
HR Operations and Compliance:
Oversee HR operations, including payroll, employee records, and HRIS systems.
Ensure compliance with labour laws, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies.
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to support business needs.
Change Management and Organizational Development:
Lead change management initiatives to support organizational growth and transformation.
Facilitate organizational development interventions to enhance team effectiveness.
Support strategic initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
Leadership and Stakeholder Management:
Lead and mentor the HR leadership team to achieve high performance and employee engagement.
Collaborate with senior leadership and the Board on strategic HR matters.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Arts, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree in Human Resources is an added advantage).
Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in HR leadership or a senior HR executive role for a group of businesses.
Proven track record of strategic HR leadership and organizational development.
In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws, and HR technology solutions.
