Primary Purpose:
The Legal Manager will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters across our businesses, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing contractual agreements, and mitigating legal risks.
This role requires a proactive legal expert with strong business acumen and the ability to provide strategic legal counsel.
As a Legal Manager, you will manage corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and legal advisory functions. You will be responsible for drafting and reviewing contracts, handling disputes, engaging with external legal counsel, and ensuring legal frameworks align with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Compliance:
Provide expert legal advice across all business units.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Monitor changes in legal and regulatory frameworks and advise management accordingly.
Contract Management:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
Ensure all contractual obligations and risks are effectively managed.
Maintain an organized contract database and track key deadlines.
Corporate Governance:
Oversee corporate governance frameworks and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Manage legal filings, board resolutions, and company secretarial duties.
Support policy development and implementation across business units.
Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management:
Handle internal dispute resolution and negotiations.
Liaise with external legal counsel on litigation and regulatory matters.
Develop legal strategies to minimize liabilities and protect company interests.
Risk Management & Policy Development:
Identify legal risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Draft and implement legal policies and compliance programs.
Conduct training and awareness programs for employees on legal matters.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: LLB from a recognized institution. BL certification is mandatory. LLM or other relevant qualifications are an advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Experience in Fintech, Logistics, or Engineering is a plus.
Skills:
Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
Excellent knowledge of corporate law, compliance, and risk management.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
