Job Summary:
An Inventory Manager/Accountant is responsible for overseeing the management of inventory and accounting for expenses across multiple shops and a warehouse. The role involves maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring proper accounting and tracking overall expenses. The position requires a combination of inventory management skills and financial accounting knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of shops and warehouse systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory levels across multiple shops and warehouse.
Monitor stock movements, reorder levels, and ensure accurate stock availability.
Perform regular stock audits and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy.
Coordinate with the business owner to maintain optimal stock levels.
Manage and document inventory transfers between shops and warehouses.
Accounting for Expenses:
Track and record all financial transactions related to inventory, including returns, and stock adjustments.
Maintain accurate records of expenses, including transportation costs, and shop/warehouse expenses.
Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Chief Accountant.
Cost Analysis & Reporting:
Assist with budgeting and forecasting for inventory-related expenses and inventory quantities across shops and warehouse.
Provide insights and recommendations for cost-saving measures related to inventory and warehouse operations.
Inventory System Management:
Maintain and update inventory management software or databases with accurate information.
Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and categorization of inventory for easy tracking and reporting.
Implement inventory control processes and policies to reduce loss, theft, and waste.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure that inventory management processes comply with financial regulations and organizational policies.
Maintain proper documentation of inventory transactions, including receipts, invoices, and stock adjustments.
Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy of financial records related to inventory.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
Work closely with sales persons, procurement, and marketers to ensure seamless operations.
Provide reports and updates to senior management regarding inventory and expense trends.
Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure proper financial reconciliation and reporting.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and accounting practices.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, AiryPro, Sage) and inventory management systems.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Knowledge of financial reporting and budget management.
Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 / month.
