Job Title: Estate Manager
Location: Eti-osa, Lagos
Job Summary
The Estate Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and management of estate name or property.
The manager will ensure the estate is well-maintained, secure, and organized, managing both the physical property and staff.
Additionally, the Estate Manager will be responsible for budgeting, coordinating events, managing vendors, and liaising with various contractors and service providers.
Key Responsibilities
Property Maintenance:
Oversee regular maintenance and repairs of all buildings, grounds, and infrastructure.
Ensure the property is in top condition year-round, including gardening, pest control, and seasonal upkeep.
Manage a team of maintenance personnel, cleaners, landscapers, and other estate staff.
Coordinate routine inspections and arrange for necessary upgrades and improvements.
Staff Management:
Hire, train, and supervise staff, including groundskeepers, housekeepers, security personnel, and other support staff.
Create staff schedules, ensuring sufficient coverage for all operations.
Conduct performance reviews and resolve any staff issues.
Budget & Financial Management:
Prepare and manage the estate’s budget, including payroll, maintenance, and project costs.
Monitor expenditures, ensuring costs stay within budget and optimizing operational expenses.
Handle billing and accounts for services, utilities, and repairs.
Security and Safety:
Ensure the safety and security of the estate and its residents by coordinating with security personnel and implementing safety protocols.
Manage access control systems, alarm systems, and surveillance to maintain high-level security.
Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively.
Event Planning and Coordination:
Organize and coordinate events on the estate, including private gatherings, parties, and other functions.
Work with external vendors, caterers, and event planners to ensure the successful execution of events.
Vendor and Contractor Management:
Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors for services such as landscaping, cleaning, repairs, and event planning.
Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and ensure the timely delivery of services.
Communication & Reporting:
Serve as the primary point of contact for the estate owner(s) and any stakeholders.
Provide regular updates and reports on estate operations, maintenance status, and financial matters.
Ensure efficient communication between all staff and contractors.
Environmental Sustainability:
Implement eco-friendly practices to reduce the estate’s environmental footprint, such as water conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable gardening practices.
Travel & Accommodation:
Occasionally manage travel arrangements, accommodations, and logistics for estate owners, guests, or visiting staff.
Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as an Estate Manager, Property Manager, or in a similar role.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in property management software and basic financial tracking.
Knowledge of estate management best practices, including landscaping, security, and maintenance.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to off-site locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Degree or certification in property management, hospitality, or a related field.
Experience with high-net-worth individuals or luxury estates.
First Aid/CPR certification.
Working Conditions:
Flexible work schedule, with potential evening or weekend work depending on estate needs.
Availability for emergency situations, particularly for security or property-related concerns.
