Job Title: Credit Control & Financial Reporting Manager (Modern Trade)
We seek a highly skilled Credit Control & Financial Reporting Manager to oversee credit risk management and financial reporting for the modern trade operations of our e-commerce business.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely collections, accurate financial reporting, and strong internal controls, contributing to overall financial stability.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Control & Risk Management:
Develop and implement credit control policies to minimize financial risk and improve cash flow.
Assess customer creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits.
Monitor accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections and resolving overdue accounts.
Collaborate with the sales team to resolve disputes while maintaining strong client relationships.
Prepare and distribute periodic AR aging reports, bad debt provisions, and collection performance analyses.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
Ensure account reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial records.
Conduct monthly and quarterly financial analysis, highlighting variances and key trends.
Work closely with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
Provide financial insights and reports to support strategic decision-making.
Risk & Compliance Management:
Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with modern trade operations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and enhance financial reporting accuracy.
Develop processes for managing disputes, returns, and credit-related concerns.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with sales, procurement, and logistics teams to align credit policies with business goals.
Maintain communication with customers to align on payment terms and credit-related resolutions.
Provide regular updates to senior management on credit risk and financial performance.
Mentor and train finance team members to strengthen credit control and reporting functions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Receivables Turnover - Reduce overdue accounts and improve collection efficiency.
Bad Debt Reduction - Minimize bad debt provisions and improve credit risk management.
Timeliness & Accuracy - Ensure prompt and precise financial reporting.
