Buttercups Prep School, a British curriculum-based school in Lagos, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Class Teacher

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Lesson Planning: Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and educational materials that align with the curriculum and ensure the learning needs of all students are met.
• Teaching: Deliver lessons in subjects such as reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and sometimes art or physical education, using engaging and interactive methods.
• Differentiated Instruction: Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students, including those who may need extra support or advanced challenges.
• Assessment: Evaluate students’ academic progress through informal and formal assessments such as quizzes, observations, group work, and projects.
• Grading: Provide regular feedback on assignments and tests, ensuring that students understand their strengths and areas for improvement.

Classroom Management:

• Create a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a safe, respectful, and stimulating classroom atmosphere where students feel motivated to participate and learn.
• Engagement: Keep students engaged with hands-on activities, group work, and creative lessons that cater to young learners' needs.
• Student Support and Development

Collaboration and Professional Development:

• Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other primary teachers and school staff to coordinate lessons, share resources, and discuss student progress.
• Attend Meetings: Participate in regular staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
• Ongoing Learning: Stay updated with the latest teaching methods, child development research, and curriculum changes through training and professional growth.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess Bachelor's Degrees with 3 - 15 years of relevant work experience.
