Position Summary
Pulse Picks is looking for a D2C Procurement Specialist to oversee product sourcing, importation, and quality control. This role is critical in ensuring that Pulse Picks’ curated product offerings maintain high-quality standards and meet the needs of our consumers.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in supplier relationship management, logistics, and procurement strategies, ensuring a seamless process from sourcing to final product delivery.
As a D2C Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for developing strong supplier networks, negotiating cost-effective procurement deals, ensuring compliance with importation regulations, and maintaining high-quality product standards.
You will be key in ensuring the quality, reliability, and efficiency of Pulse Picks’ procurement processes, strengthening its credibility as a trusted platform for curated products.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and establish partnerships with local and international suppliers that align with Pulse Picks’ product sourcing strategy.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies that ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and timely product availability.
Manage the entire procurement process, from supplier selection and negotiation to final product delivery.
Oversee the importation process, ensuring all customs, duties, and regulatory requirements are met.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure all sourced products meet Pulse Picks’ standards before listing.
Work closely with the content and marketing teams to provide accurate product information, including features, pricing, and availability.
Monitor market trends, consumer demands, and industry innovations to refine Pulse Picks’ sourcing strategy.
Ensure ethical sourcing practices and supplier compliance with legal and safety regulations.
Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and align procurement activities with business goals.
Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality product offerings.
Troubleshoot procurement and supply chain challenges to minimise disruptions.
Ensure sustainability and ethical sourcing practices when selecting suppliers.
Develop risk assessment and mitigation strategies in sourcing plans.
Manage supplier compliance with changing trade regulations.
Work closely with finance to manage budgeting and cost control in procurement activities.
Implement technology solutions for tracking and optimising procurement operations.
Skills and Qualifications
A Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in procurement, supply chain management, or importation, preferably in eCommerce, retail, or direct-to-consumer (D2C) businesses.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with suppliers and logistics partners.
Experience with international trade regulations, customs processes, and import/export documentation.
Ability to conduct market research and trend analysis to optimise product sourcing strategies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in quality control processes.
Strong analytical skills to assess procurement efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Proficiency in procurement software, logistics tracking systems, and inventory management tools.
Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across multiple teams.
