Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Account Officer/Business Support professional to join our dynamic event management team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to provide financial and administrative support to the business.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Management:
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries.
Process invoices, receipts, and expense reports, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial statements for projects and events.
Business Support:
Provide administrative and operational support for event planning and execution.
Collaborate with the events team to ensure accurate budgeting and cost management for all projects.
Liaise with vendors and clients on invoicing, payment follow-ups, and contract terms.
Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and financial documentation for client pitches.
Manage the MD’s calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.
Handle confidential business correspondence, reports, and documentation.
Assist in preparing presentations, contracts, invoices, and other business documents.
Organize and maintain office files, records, and supplies.
Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Support in organizing company meetings, corporate events, and team activities.
Compliance and Audit Support:
Ensure compliance with financial policies, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare documents for internal and external audits as needed.
Inventory and Asset Management:
Track and maintain records of inventory, equipment, and other company assets.
Monitor event-specific expenditures to ensure they align with approved budgets.
Reporting and Recordkeeping:
Maintain organized and secure records of all financial and operational activities.
Generate reports on financial performance and operational efficiency for management review.
Qualifications
OND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1 - 2 years of work experience in accounting, preferably in event management or similar industry.
Proximity to Maryland, Ikeja, or ability to commute easily to the location.
Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations is an advantage.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
