Job Title: Neurologist
Location: Surulere, Lagos

Reports to: Department Head, Medical Director, or Chief of Neurology
Working Schedule: Mondays to Fridays 9 am - 5pm and alternative weekends
Job Summary
Diagnose and treat disorders and diseases of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system, providing high-quality patient care and promoting neurological health.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Evaluation: Evaluate patients with neurological symptoms, performing physical exams, reviewing medical histories, and ordering diagnostic tests.
Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose neurological conditions, developing and implementing treatment plans, including medications, therapies, and lifestyle modifications.
Invasive and Non-Invasive Procedure: Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures, such as lumbar punctures, electromyography, and nerve conduction studies.
Neurological Rehabilitation: Develop and implement rehabilitation plans to help patients recover from neurological injuries or illnesses.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on neurological conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
Collaboration with Other Healthcare Professionals*: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, neurosurgeons, and other specialists, to provide comprehensive care.
Research and Staying Current: Stay current with the latest advances in neurology, participating in research studies, attending conferences, and reading industry publications.
Education and Qualifications
Medical Degree: Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
Residency and Fellowship: Completion of a residency program in neurology and a fellowship program in a subspecialty of neurology, if desired.
Licensure and Certification: Licensure to practice medicine in the state and certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in neurology.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in neurology, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Emotional Intelligence and Empathy: High level of emotional intelligence and empathy, with ability to provide compassionate care to patients and their families.
Staying Current with Medical Advances: Commitment to staying current with the latest advances in neurology, including new technologies, treatments, and research findings.

Hospital or Clinical Setting: Work in a hospital or clinical setting, with exposure to infectious diseases and other health risks.
