Job Title: Senior Risk Engineer (Oil & Gas)
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Description
Develop and implement risk management frameworks for oil and gas projects.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments to identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks.
Utilize risk analysis tools such as Monte Carlo simulations, HAZOP, HAZID, FMEA, and Bow-Tie analysis.
Ensure compliance with NOGICD Act 2010 and industry risk management standards (ISO 31000, PMI Risk Management, etc.).
Maintain a risk register to track identified risks, mitigation plans, and residual risks.
Work closely with engineering, project management, procurement, and finance teams to minimize project uncertainties.
Provide regular risk reporting, dashboards, and risk mitigation recommendations.
Assess contractual and financial risks, ensuring risk-based decision-making in project planning and execution.
Monitor emerging risks and adjust risk strategies accordingly.
Conduct risk awareness training for project teams and stakeholders.
Principal Accountabilities
Develop and implement project risk management plans.
Conduct detailed risk analysis and provide actionable insights.
Ensure compliance with NCDMB and industry risk guidelines.
Provide risk monitoring, variance analysis, and reporting.
Support contract and procurement teams with risk-based decision-making.
Academic Qualifications
University degree/Higher National Diploma in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Risk Management, or related field).
Work Experience:
5 - 7 years of experience in risk engineering, project risk management, or related roles in the oil and gas industry.
Technical/Leadership Skills:
Expertise in risk assessment methodologies and tools (HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, FMEA, Bow-Tie Analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, etc.).
Proficiency in risk analysis software (Primavera Risk, ARM, @RISK, or equivalent tools).
Strong understanding of NOGICD Act 2010 and regulatory risk compliance.
Knowledge of project cost risk analysis and financial risk management.
Ability to develop and maintain risk registers and mitigation plans.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience in conducting risk workshops and awareness sessions.
Key Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and strategic risk thinking.
