Job Title: Finance Manager (Oil & Gas)
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Summary
We are seeking a Finance Manager with 5–7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry to oversee financial planning, budgeting, cost control, and compliance.
The ideal candidate will provide strategic financial guidance, ensure regulatory adherence, and support business growth through effective financial management.
Job Description
Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures in line with company goals.
Oversee budget preparation, financial forecasting, and cost control to optimize profitability.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, tax laws, and NOGICD Act 2010.
Analyze financial statements, cash flow reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights.
Develop risk management strategies for financial stability.
Coordinate with project managers, procurement teams, and senior leadership on financial planning.
Manage financial audits, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with international standards (IFRS, GAAP).
Lead financial modeling, investment analysis, and feasibility studies for new projects.
Oversee tax planning, payroll management, and statutory remittances.
Implement financial controls to prevent fraud and ensure financial integrity.
Provide leadership to the finance team, ensuring continuous improvement and best practices.
Principal Accountabilities:
Develop and maintain robust financial planning and reporting frameworks.
Ensure compliance with NCDMB and other regulatory financial guidelines.
Provide financial insights and data-driven recommendations to management.
Optimize cost structures and improve financial efficiency.
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and financial stakeholders.
Academic Qualifications
University degree/Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CFA, or CIMA is an added advantage.
Work Experience:
5 - 7 years of financial management experience in the oil and gas industry.
Technical/Leadership Skills:
Strong knowledge of financial management principles, IFRS, GAAP, and taxation.
Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis.
Proficiency in financial software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems).
Experience with NOGICD Act 2010 and financial compliance in the oil and gas industry.
Strong understanding of risk management, internal controls, and audit processes.
Ability to develop and execute financial models and business cases.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
