Job Title: Principal Planning Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Principal Planning Engineer with 5–7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry to lead project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing project schedules, ensuring timely execution, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to align project timelines with business objectives.
Job Description
Develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules using planning tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Ensure alignment of project schedules with engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
Conduct critical path analysis (CPA), risk assessment, and progress tracking.
Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
Monitor and report project performance, deviations, and forecasted completion timelines.
Ensure compliance with NOGICD Act 2010 and NCDMB regulations related to project execution.
Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and variance analysis for senior management.
Implement best practices in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Identify potential schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Support contract administration by providing schedule analysis and claims assessment.
Principal Accountabilities:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for successful execution.
Conduct schedule analysis, risk assessment, and critical path reviews.
Ensure compliance with NCDMB and regulatory planning requirements.
Provide timely reports and recommendations to management.
Support continuous improvement in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Academic Qualifications
University degree/Higher National Diploma in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Project Management, or related field).
Work Experience:
5 - 7 years of experience in project planning and scheduling in the oil and gas industry.
Technical/Leadership Skills:
Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other project scheduling tools.
Strong expertise in critical path method (CPM) scheduling and risk management.
Experience in progress tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Knowledge of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) planning.
Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Compliance knowledge of NOGICD Act 2010 and regulatory requirements.
Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex project schedules.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Key Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
