Job Title: Finance Analyst (Oil & Gas)
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Summary
We are seeking a Finance Analyst with 5 - 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry to support financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and data analysis.
The ideal candidate will provide insights to improve financial performance, ensure compliance, and support decision-making processes.
Job Description
Analyze financial data, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business decisions.
Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and investment analysis to senior management.
Support cost control measures and financial risk assessment.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, tax laws, and NOGICD Act 2010.
Conduct profitability analysis, cost-benefit evaluations, and feasibility studies for projects.
Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and operations teams on financial planning.
Assist in financial audits by preparing supporting documentation and reconciliations.
Use financial models to assess the impact of strategic business decisions.
Identify process improvements for financial reporting and cost optimization.
Principal Accountabilities:
Develop and maintain financial models and reporting templates.
Ensure compliance with NCDMB and other regulatory financial guidelines.
Provide financial insights to optimize cost structures and improve profitability.
Support management in decision-making with financial data analysis.
Work closely with auditors, tax authorities, and financial stakeholders.
Academic Qualifications
University Degree / Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CFA, or CIMA is an added advantage.
Work Experience:
5 - 7 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or reporting within the oil and gas industry.
Technical/Leadership Skills:
Strong knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting frameworks.
Proficiency in financial software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems).
Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Understanding of NOGICD Act 2010 and financial compliance in the oil and gas sector.
Ability to analyze complex data and provide strategic recommendations.
Experience in cost control and operational financial management.
Strong communication skills to present financial insights to stakeholders.
