Job Summary
The Project Contracting and Claims Manager in an ongoing EPC contact at the detailed design phase.
This is a senior project role supporting the Project Director/Manager in overseeing that contractual provisions are fully implemented in the project whilst ensuring proactive analysis of potential ground for claims that may result in positive or negative variations on the Contract.
This role is critical in managing structured resolutions of potential conflicts that could dilute the ability of the project to focus on momentum project delivery whilst ensuring maximum value protection for the Company.
Key Responsibilities
Work as a key member of the Project leadership team of providing legal and contracting services throughout project execution phase and contract financial close out stages.
Managing complete Contract execution processes including contract strategy, tactics and all Contract Management activities for the Project.
Review and interpret contracting terms and conditions based on duly signed Contracts with Clients and also develop and champion drafting of contacts for sub-contractors providing services to Company.
Assist with the development and implementation of bid evaluation for sub-contractors and sub-contractor selection process to deliver best value. Ensure tendering, bid clarification evaluation and recommendation for award processes.
Manage Contracting Implementation: Develop, maintain and implement contracting guidelines, ensuring compliance with approval contract terms and conditions consistent with value protection for Company.
Contract Management: Oversee contract implementation on project, negotiation, and administration, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
Vendor Relations: Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, conducting vendor evaluations and managing performance.
Claims Management: Handle claims related to contracts, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with contract terms.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement and contracts.
Financial Oversight: Monitor budgets and expenditures related to procurement and contracts.
Team Leadership: Supervise and develop contract management manual.
Reporting: Prepare reports on contract performance and financial metrics.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; a degree in Law or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in procurement and contract management within Oil and Gas. Project Contracting and Procurement.
Proven track record of execution excellence and delivering results. Experience in post-award contract management of EPC contracts (Contractor relationship, performance management, Contract Administration and Claims Management)
Highly tuned commercial acumen and curiosity with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver value from complex deals
