Egbin Power Plc. Lagos is one of the biggest additions to the electricity industry in Nigeria. Often seen as the biggest single generating power station in Sub-Saharan Africa, it was built to meet the every rising demand for electricity in Lagos and its environs.
Following the nation’s privatization exercise, Sahara, through its power division, Sahara Power Group and sundry affiliations, acquired the 1320 MW installed capacity Egbin Power Plant. We are working towards deploying a minimum of 5,000 MW of electricity generation over the next five years.

Job Title: Project Scheduler / Planner

Job Summary
The project planner/scheduler is responsible for selecting, planning, scheduling, budgeting and designing methodologies to attain project objectives while ensuring adequate stakeholder management at all levels.
The project planner/scheduler works to itemize activities, deliverables, and milestones and assign tasks to get them completed by allocating appropriate resources within an estimated budget and timeframe.
The primary role is developing project execution plan, risk assessment, progress reporting, documentation and proper definition of project control elements to assure project delivery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop project execution planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned projects.
Monitor and control programme compliance for project contractual obligations
Advice and consult on the application of effective planning variance, estimates at completion and critical path analysis
Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution
Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
Development of integrated master schedules for specific programmes in Primavera and/or Microsoft Projects that reflect all interface milestones and activity duration from multiple contractors’ schedules and feed changes to the integrated master schedule
Ensure awareness, understanding and application of QHSE policy and application of departmental objectives
Ensure awareness of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 &45001:2018) and the implications of not conforming with the requirements.
Understand and identify hazards, risks, environmental aspects and impacts as it is related to their jobs.
Prepare weekly/monthly status reports by gathering, analysing, and summarizing relevant information.
Provide project control management, including baseline schedule development and management, performance status and reporting, baseline change control, risk management, and earned value management guidance and tools.
Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
Work closely with the project manager to maximize the potential of the project.
Implement data protection policies and practices of Egbin Power Plc.
Ensure compliance with the NDPR and other data protection laws, and data protection policies.
Undertake Data Protection Impact Assessment as applicable to curb the risk during data processing operations.
To follow up on reported project deviations and non-conformances to ensure necessary corrective actions are adequately taken to prevent recurrence
To ensure the implementation of risk-based thinking in project management
Conduct surveillance and reviews at project sites to maintain quality standards and requirements.
Managing customer satisfaction within the project transition period.
Conducting post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Education and Work Experience
Engineering background preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of project management experience.
Project Management training (certification is an added advantage).
HSE training (certification is an added advantage).
Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent project management and supervision skills.
The ability to work on multidisciplinary projects.
Effective communication within the team and with stakeholders
Planning, risk analysis and human resource management
Proficiency in using relevant program tools and techniques
Control systems following relevant national standards
Advanced MS Office skills with competence in Word, Excel, Projects and Outloo.

Ability to lead project teams of various sizes.
