Job Title: Accounting Administrator
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Purpose
We are looking for a highflying Accountant to provide support in country for the finance and tax departments and assisting in the office administration and facilities duties. This role reports to the financial manager.
Responsibilities of the Role
Perform daily MNO reconciliation and troubleshoot and resolve related issues with the Systems Development Team. This task should also be performed every alternative weekend and takes approximately 2 hours to run (monitoring required only). Overtime will be paid at the maximum allowance of two hours per non-weekday (weekends and public holidays).
Monitoring of JIRA queue for customer refunds to be processed via the banks thrice a week.
Submit purchase order requests to procurement team.
Assist local staff with supplier queries by providing information regarding suppliers and expenses on request
Place Virtual Top up orders when required.
Monitoring of JIRA queue for supplier invoices applicable to the entity and process on the accounting system.
Weekly preparation of payment packs for review by manager
Allocate payments to supplier accounts in the accounting system and supplier account reconciliations and vendor ageing
Collaborate with group facilities to ensure the office is adequately equipped.
Raise expense accruals for expenses incurred, not yet invoiced
Perform monthly Virtual Top Up reconciliation
Perform bank reconciliation within accounting system
Assisting Commercial Team and Finance with Banking administration
Perform allocated month end tasks, such as journals
Act as a back-up for in-country team member (month end tasks and daily operational)
Tax specific responsibilities:
Act as a backup for the following tasks:
Processing of withholdings tax credit notes in the accounting system
Assist with processing and obtaining annual tax clearance certificate
Monthly VAT compliance services
Monthly withholding tax compliance services
Annual tax return submission
Assist the Finance Manager with any ad-hoc tasks, such as local Tax Audits by Authorities
Requirements of the Role
Candidates should possess an Accounting qualification
3+ years working experience in a similar financial position
Work Experience:
Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience (preferred)
Working with international debtors and creditors
Knowledge and Abilities:
