Job Title: Lead Site Engineer
Location: Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Supervises: Junior Site Engineer & Other Contractors.
Job Summary
The Lead Site Engineer will oversee the planning, design, and implementation of construction activities at Exhale Avenue.
This role includes supervising contractors, coordinating site engineering tasks, managing stores, and overseeing procurement processes to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
Site Engineering & Technical Oversight:
Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.
Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures.
Approve engineering changes and modifications, ensuring they align with project objectives and standards.
Coordination of Stores and Inventory Management:
Oversee the management of construction materials, tools, and equipment on-site.
Ensure accurate inventory records and conduct periodic stock checks.
Coordinate with storekeepers to maintain optimal stock levels, preventing shortages or overstocking.
Implement security measures to safeguard construction materials and equipment.
Coordination of Procurement Activities:
Collaborate with the procurement team to source and purchase materials and equipment.
Review and approve purchase orders to ensure they meet project specifications and budget.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
Evaluate and negotiate supplier contracts for cost-effectiveness and reliability.
Supervisory Roles on Contractors and Workforce Management:
Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors and site labor.
Ensure contractors adhere to project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Conduct performance evaluations of contractors and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Resolve site issues promptly to avoid project delays.
Project Coordination and Reporting:
Coordinate with architects, designers, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to the Project Manager.
Attend site meetings to discuss project status, challenges, and solutions.
Manage project documentation, including site reports, material logs, and inspection records.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Ensure all site activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Implement safety protocols to minimize accidents and hazards on-site.
Conduct regular safety training and toolbox talks for site workers and contractors.
Investigate accidents and incidents, providing reports and recommendations for prevention.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2-5 years of proven experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar role in construction projects.
Professional certification or membership with a recognized engineering body is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office Suite.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
