Job Title: Van Sales Representative / Van Sales Executive

Locations: Akwa Ibom, Boki, Obubra, Odukpani & Ogoja - Cross River and Port Harcourt - Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • A Van Sales Representative (VSR) in an FMCG company is responsible for directly selling products to retail outlets and customers within a designated territory by driving a company van, actively managing customer relationships, ensuring proper stock levels at stores, and achieving sales targets through in-person interactions while maintaining excellent product visibility on shelves; essentially acting as a mobile salesperson who delivers products and promotes sales on the go.

Key Responsibilities
Route Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and follow a pre-planned sales route, visiting assigned retail outlets regularly to maintain customer relationships and generate sales.

Customer Acquisition and Management:

  • Identify new potential customers within the territory, establish rapport, and convert them into regular clients.

Product Promotion and Sales:

  • Actively promote the company's product range, highlighting key features and benefits to customers, and effectively close sales transactions.

Stock Management:

  • Ensure proper stock levels at retail outlets by taking orders, delivering products from the van, and monitoring inventory.

Merchandising and Display:

  • Optimize product visibility on shelves by implementing merchandising strategies, including creating attractive product displays and rotating stock.

Market Analysis and Reporting:

  • Gather market intelligence on competitor activity, consumer trends, and feedback within the assigned territory, reporting insights to the sales team.

Customer Service:

  • Address customer concerns and complaints promptly, providing excellent customer service to maintain loyalty.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / HND or OND qualification with 1 - 4 years work experience.

Required Skills
Strong Sales Skills:

  • Proven ability to effectively present products, negotiate deals, and close sales.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with customers.

Route Planning and Management:

  • Capability to efficiently plan and execute sales routes within a designated territory.

Product Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of the company's product range, features, and benefits.

Driving Skills:

  • Valid driving license and comfortable driving a van for extended periods.

Important Considerations:
Physical Demands:

  • This role involves significant time spent driving and walking between stores, requiring good physical stamina.

Local Market Understanding:

  • Familiarity with the local market dynamics and customer preferences within the assigned territory is crucial.

Compliance:

  • Adherence to company policies, sales guidelines, and regulatory requirements

Salary
N100,000 - N110,000 / month.
