Role Summary

• We are seeking a talented and driven Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at Figorr, an IoT company specializing in remote cold-chain monitoring. 
• The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust APIs and backend systems that power our IoT devices, ensuring real-time monitoring, data analysis, and actionable insights for clients. 
• This role requires expertise in JavaScript, Node.js, Next.js, and MongoDB, with a strong emphasis on building scalable and data-efficient systems using MongoDB aggregation pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs to support IoT data ingestion, storage, and processing. • Ensure APIs are highly performant, scalable, and secure.
• Develop and optimize complex MongoDB queries using aggregation pipelines to support data analytics and reporting.
• Design efficient database schemas tailored to the high-volume data generated by IoT devices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement backend logic that integrates with IoT systems for cold-chain monitoring.
• Build and maintain backend services for real-time device tracking, temperature monitoring, and alert generation.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Use GitHub for version control, code reviews, and collaboration with the engineering team.
• Debug and resolve backend issues to ensure system reliability and uptime.
• Optimize the performance of APIs and database queries to handle high volumes of IoT device data efficiently.
• Work closely with front-end engineers, product managers, and IoT specialists to deliver seamless solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest tools, technologies, and trends to improve backend systems and processes.

Qualification and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in any Engineering or Science field.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and backend development using Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with Next.js for server-side rendering and API routes.
• Expertise in MongoDB, including designing schemas and optimizing queries with aggregation pipelines.
• Familiarity with version control systems like GitHub for collaboration and CI/CD workflows.
• Proven experience in backend development, preferably in IoT or real-time monitoring systems.
• Understanding IoT concepts is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with remote teams.
• A proactive attitude toward learning and adopting new technologies.
