Kaduna State University Application For Admission Into College Of Basic Studies Kaduna and Kafanchan Campuses, 2012/2013 Academic Session

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the College of Basic Studies (CBS) Kaduna and Kafanchan Campuses of the Kaduna State University.

Objectives:

The programme designed for both Science and Humanities is to prepare candidates for University Matriculation Examination and also provide opportunity for candidates with O/Level deficiencies to remedy them.

Admission Requirements:

1.) Basic Programme

Candidates for this programme must possess not less than 5 O/Level credits in their WASSCE/SSCE/NECO

Science:

Candidates for science programme should have credits in English, Mathematics and any other 3 of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geography. The 5 credits above must have been obtained in not more than 2 sittings.

Humanities:

Candidates for the arts programme should have credits in English, Mathematics and any other 3 of the following subjects: Economics, Government, History and Literature in not more than2 sittings.

For both categories, applicants must write the 2012/2013 JAMB/UTME with relevant subject combinations and must obtain the minimum pass mark approved by the Federal Government.

2.) Remedial Programme

Science:

Candidates for this programme must possess a minimum of 3 O/Level credits in not more than 1 sitting in the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Biology Chemistry, Physics and Geography.

Humanities

Candidates for this programme must possess a minimum of 3 O/Level credits in not more than 1 sitting in the following subjects: Economics, Government, History and Literature in English.
Candidates admitted for Remedial programme are expected to register and pass SSCE or NECO in the subjects they are deficient. Candidates will not be allowed to register for subjects that have not been attempted at O/Level.

Application Closing Date:

4th November, 2012

Method Of Application:

Applications for admission into both programmes are online through KASU website www.kasu.edu.ng. The candidates are to purchase scratch cards from the Unity Bank Branch at Bakori House, Ahmadu Bello Way Kaduna, Zaria and Kafanchan Branches at the cost of N3,200 (Three thousand Two Hundred Naira Only)

Please Note:

Sales of forms will commence on 15th October, 2012
Registration of successful candidates will commence on Monday 5th November 2012 while lectures will start on Monday, 19th November, 2012.
