Job Title: Head of Supply Chain and Equipment Management (HSCEM) 

Location: Lekki, Lagos

About the Role

  • We are looking for the Head of Supply Chain and Equipment Management Strategic Business Unit (SCEMSBU) who will be responsible for establishing and leading the SCEMSBU.
  • Your leadership will be crucial to developing and implementing strategies for sourcing, supplying, and managing materials and equipment, driving operational efficiency and expanding our services beyond our gated estates.
  • You’ll embrace innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and drive the company’s strategic vision while creating a personal brand and visibility for yourself, your SBU and GroupCo

Summary of Job Function

  • The HSCEM is responsible for establishing and leading SCEMSBU within GroupCo, focusing on strategic planning and execution and ensuring efficient sourcing, supply, management, and delivery of building materials, equipment, and related services to user SBUs and other external clients both within and outside the gated estate being developed by GroupCo to fulfill the company’s strategic vision of delivering unique customer-driven value solutions across thedream home and lifestyle value chain.
  • This role encourages personal branding by way of creating visibility for the candidate and GroupCo.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Setup and Development:

  • Lead the establishment of the SCEMSBU.
  • Develop and implement the supply chain and equipment management strategy for SCEMSBU, while ensuring alignment with GroupCo's business objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strategic partnerships.
  • Develop policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and seize opportunities for expanding services both within and outside the estate.

Sourcing and Supply:

  • Oversee the sourcing and procurement of essential building materials, including cement, sand, granite, wood, iron, plumbing, and electrical supplies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of materials.

Production Management:

  • Lead the production of cement and concrete products (such as blocks, curb stones, and paving stones)
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and project requirements.
  • Innovate and optimize processes for the manufacturing of blocks, curb stones, and pave stones.

Fleet and Equipment Management:

  • Oversee optimal management of vehicles, trucks and haulage equipment for material delivery and hire services.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operational efficiency of construction and agricultural equipment for service delivery and hire.

Fabrication and Construction Oversight:

  • Set up and supervise the fabrication of aluminum and glass products to meet project specifications.
  • Establish and direct the construction of furniture and cabinetry products, ensuring quality and design excellence.

Innovation and Creativity:

  • Number of new initiatives launched (projects, processes or products launched) within a time frame
  • Time to market (for new products)
  • Revenue from new products

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all operations comply with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Implement robust safety protocols and conduct regular audits to maintain a safe working environment.

Financial Oversight:

  • Develop and manage SCEMSBU budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

SBU Marketing with Personal Brand:

  • Utilize Thought Leadership, Networking, Social Media Presence, Public Relations, Corporate Culture Advocacy and other personal branding techniques to promote the SCEMSBU.
  • Develop marketing strategies to enhance visibility and attract clients.
  • Engage with industry stakeholders to build the brand's reputation.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and third-party service providers, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for SCEMSBU-related inquiries and negotiations.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and submit periodic activity reports for management review.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in supply chain management, logistics, or related fields, with at least 1 or 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report preparation.
  • Familiarity with construction materials and production processes.
