Job Title: Fabrication Coordinator

Responsibilities
The ideacandidate wilpossess as follows:
Meets with customers to scope of work, ascertain requirements, agree on specification etc. and compiles estimates of time, materials and labour, and related costs and provides appropriate feedback such as estimates and parts sketches as required to the workshop supervisor.
Maintains an ongoing awareness of appropriate safety procedures on the shop and takes remediaactions as required. Ensure fabrication activities comply with NLNG safety protocol, regulations, waste management, live saving rules and industry wide safety standard
Plan and create fabrication schedules based on urgency and service leveagreement ensuring resources (Material/Man/Machine) are available for the execution of activities as at when due.
Maintains accurate records of activity schedules, fabrication activities, AARs, Safety issues, quality issues, QC records, welders’ performance records, ITPs, qualification of personneon the workshop floor e.t.c
Provides technicaexpertise and experience to solve problems, liaise with the assurance team and other stakeholders to accommodate changes and improve the quality of work delivery. Inspects completed work to ensure conformance to specifications, quality and customer satisfaction.
Participates in shop planning, work scheduling and loading, materials and equipment acquisition and related activities to promote productivity and deliver finished products within Service LeveAgreement (SLA) timeframes. Reacts to and initiates remediameasures in response to unforeseen circumstances and other outside factors.
Assists with administrative processing (ordering materials, solving billing problems, initiating queries, legadocumentation, construction permits, etc.) to enhance the customer service and efficiency of the shop.
Qualification and Certification
HND/BSc in Engineering with minimum of 5 years experience in high volume fabrication shop floor with 2 years in planning and scheduling Or Trades certificate (Welding/Machinist) with a minimum 10 year’s experience in the trade (journey man) and a minimum of 3 years as a workshop supervisor.
Certification in CSWIP/AWS, ASNT and Certified Scheduling Technician (CST)
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Considerable knowledge of trades and equipment typicaof a large-scale fabrication shop environment – Welding, Machinist, etc.
Knowledge of various materials, equipment, and processes and the ability to effectively utilize same to solve complex customer problems and requirements, read and interpret plans and specifications and to perform calculations required by the design and estimation process.
Knowledge of and ability to apply acceptable standards of materials, design, and quality in the fabrication process.
Ability to prepare accurate estimates of time, materials, etc. in support of customer queries, work tendering, production scheduling and related activities and to source supplies, services and other resources.
Ability to adapt to and implement changes in work priorities in support of fabrication shop productivity and to ensure that appropriate safety precautions and work process procedures are observed.
