Job Summary
As Quality Control Officer, you will ensure that our food and service meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.
You will be responsible for monitoring various aspects of operations to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, uphold our brand standards, and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Food Quality Assurance:
Conduct regular inspections of food ingredients, preparation processes, and finished dishes to ensure adherence to recipe standards and freshness.
Monitor food storage, handling, and temperature control practices to prevent contamination and maintain food safety.
Collaborate with the kitchen staff to address any issues related to food quality or consistency promptly.
Hygiene and Sanitation Compliance:
Implement and enforce strict hygiene protocols in accordance with local health regulations and restaurant policies.
Perform routine inspections of kitchen facilities, equipment, and utensils to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
Provide guidance and training to staff on proper hygiene practices and food safety procedures.
Product Standards and Presentation:
Evaluate the presentation and portion sizes of food items to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards for quality and aesthetics.
Work closely with the culinary team to maintain consistency in plating techniques and garnishing.
Identify opportunities for improvement in food presentation and collaborate with the management team to implement changes as needed.
Customer Feedback Analysis:
Solicit feedback from customers regarding their dining experience, paying special attention to food quality, taste, and presentation.
Analyse customer comments and complaints related to food quality and service and take appropriate corrective actions.
Proactively engage with customers to address their concerns and ensure their satisfaction with the dining experience.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
Establish and maintain relationships with food suppliers and vendors to ensure the consistent quality and timely delivery of ingredients.
Conduct periodic evaluations of suppliers to assess their performance and adherence to quality standards.
Collaborate with the procurement team to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices without compromising on quality.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of quality control inspections, food safety audits, and corrective actions taken.
Generate reports on key performance indicators related to food quality, hygiene compliance, and customer feedback.
Present findings and recommendations to the management team for continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Minimum of first degree in food science, hospitality management, or any related field.
Previous experience in quality control, food safety, or a related role in the food service industry.
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with kitchen and service teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to multitask.
