Programme Officer (D-RAPID) at CBM International

CBM is an International Christian Development Organization, committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest countries of the world. CBM provides grants sourced from private and institutional donors to local partners, who subsequently implement the grants on the basis of contracts signed with CBM detailing implementation, accounting, and reporting standards. In this set-up, CBM Country Offices (CO) perform control and monitoring procedures aimed at partner projects; control reports from implementing partners to CBM, including comparison with original source documents, project contract and cost plans; and ensure compliance with organizational and statutory requirements.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Programme Officer (D-RAPID)

Location: Nigeria

These are your Responsibilities

• Supporting detailed disability inclusive program planning with implementing partners and other key stakeholders.
• Strong Advocacy and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including the governments on disability inclusive development.
• Provide coordination, technical and capacity building support to partners in ensuring effective, timely and accountable inclusive programming.
• Support partner organizations, Organisations of persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and Civil Society Organisations to implement activities following an inclusive approach.
• Provide technical support to partner organisations to ensure compliance to EU standards, disability inclusion and implementation of agreed plans.
• Develop and ensure proper project monitoring system following CBM format and requirements.
• Support partners to ensure that narrative reports and communication materials are submitted in a timely manner and are of high quality.
• In close cooperation with Programme Finance Officer, support partners and ensure the logistic, admin and financial monitoring of the project (call up of funds, acknowledgement of receipt of funds, procurement of materials, utilisation of expenses and compliance with accountability principles.).
• To participate in meetings and support the partners to include disability in mainstream services being provided to affected population.
• To continuously assess situation and support partner organisation to re-adjust activities as per need after discussion with line management.
• To facilitate documentation of learnings and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the Communications Officer and the MEAL Officer.
• To monitoring the security situation on the ground and work with the Security Advisor support the partners to develop a framework for safety and security management.
• To support the partners to put in place sustainability measures beyond the project lifespan .
• Any other task assigned by line manager or other senior colleagues.

These are your Qualifications

• University Degree in Disability Studies, Rehabilitation Science, Psychology, Sociology, Development or other related Social Sciences field is required.
• A Master’s Degree/Relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
• Four (4) years specific professional experience working in the area of disability inclusion, experience in CBID programming is an advantage.
• Experience in providing support to local partners or working with donor organizations.
• Prior experience with international development organizations or programs that have both national and community-level engagement.
• Experience in project management, budget development, work-plan development, climate change etc.
• Fluency in oral and written communication skills; particularly in English language is a must.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while juggling and coordinating multiple/conflicting priorities and deadlines.
• Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and good report writing skills.
• Ability to integrate into a multi-cultural environment.
• Must be proactive, seeking to do things differently, and to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
• Ability and willingness to learn and travel frequently to project locations.
• Able to work independently, and as a member of a team.
• Reflects CBM values in daily work.
