Maisha Meds is an organisation dedicated to improving health care in Africa. We began full-time operations in 2017 and over the past few years have grown to support over 1.5 million patient encounters annually across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, and Zambia with our suite of software products. We are building the financial and technology infrastructure to enable global health funders to pay for health outcomes at the last mile, with a focus on malaria case management (and results from a RCT with UC Berkeley due out later this year), injectable contraceptives, prenatal care, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis, and COVID testing and vaccination.

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist - Pathways to Malaria Pre-Elimination Project
We’re looking for a Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist with strong analytical, data management, and program evaluation skills who will lead the design, implementation, and management of monitoring and evaluation systems, ensuring evidence-based decision-making for malaria interventions in our Pathways to Malaria Pre-Elimination Project.
About the Role
The M&E Specialist will lead efforts to track, analyze, and refine malaria control strategies through comprehensive data collection, performance monitoring, and impact assessment.
The successful candidate will ensure data-driven decision-making, continuous program improvement, and the generation of high-quality evidence to guide policy and intervention strategies.
All work will be seconded to the Lagos State, Ministry of Health.
This role is based in Lagos, Nigeria, and is eligible to Nigerian country nationals only.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director of Scale Programs, Maisha Meds, and work closely with other project teams to ensure project sustainability.
This is a fixed-term contract that starts in March 2025 and ends on Dec 31, 2025.
Responsibilities
Develop M&E Strategies and define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for malaria interventions.
Conduct Data Collection and Analysis using quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
Prepare performance reports to communicate project progress and impact to stakeholders.
Engage with Stakeholders to share findings and improve collaboration between public and private healthcare providers.
Facilitate Learning Sessions to ensure continuous improvement of malaria control strategies.
Ensure Data Integrity through proper documentation, validation, and analysis processes.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
4 - 6 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in health programs.
Proven experience in health program evaluation, policy advisory, and reporting.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, Stata, R, Power BI, or R) and M&E methodologies and frameworks.
Familiarity with health management information systems (HMIS) and data visualization toolss.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and stakeholder presentations.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and quality assurance.
