Maisha Meds is an organisation dedicated to improving health care in Africa. We began full-time operations in 2017 and over the past few years have grown to support over 1.5 million patient encounters annually across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, and Zambia with our suite of software products. We are building the financial and technology infrastructure to enable global health funders to pay for health outcomes at the last mile, with a focus on malaria case management (and results from a RCT with UC Berkeley due out later this year), injectable contraceptives, prenatal care, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis, and COVID testing and vaccination.

Job Title: Project Manager - Pathways to Malaria Pre-Elimination Project
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to provide strategic oversight, operational leadership, and stakeholder coordination to ensure the successful implementation of our Pathways to Malaria Pre-Elimination Lagos Project.
About the Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that project objectives are met on time, within scope, and within budget. The role will involve managing stakeholders, overseeing project activities, and ensuring alignment with malaria elimination goals.
The Project Manager will provide technical and operational leadership, ensuring that all aspects of the project—from strategy to implementation—are executed efficiently.
This role will facilitate coordination between Maisha Meds, Government Agencies, Donors, and Private Sector Actors, ensuring smooth execution and impact-driven outcomes.
All work will be seconded to the Lagos State, Ministry of Health.
This role is based in Lagos, Nigeria, and applications are eligible to Nigerian country nationals only.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director of Scale Programs, Maisha Meds, and work closely with other project teams to ensure project sustainability.
This is a fixed-term contract starting in March 2025 and ending on Dec 31, 2025.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Implementation:
Lead project execution by ensuring that all activities are delivered within scope, timeline, and budget.
Develop and implement a project work plan, outlining key activities, milestones, and deliverables.
Oversee the day-to-day management of project activities, ensuring alignment with malaria pre-elimination objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination:
Liaise with key stakeholders, including government agencies, donors, healthcare providers, and private sector partners, to ensure effective project implementation.
Represent the project in technical working groups, donor meetings, and policy discussions.
Facilitate regular multi-stakeholder coordination meetings to drive collaboration and information sharing.
Financial and Resource Management:
Work closely with finance teams to track project budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation.
Identify funding gaps and opportunities, working with partners to mobilize additional resources.
Ensure efficient use of project funds and compliance with donor and organizational financial regulations.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
Oversee the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) process, ensuring accurate data collection, performance tracking, and reporting.
Develop monthly, quarterly, and final project reports for submission to stakeholders, donors, and Maisha Meds leadership.
Ensure that project learnings and best practices are documented and disseminated for future program design and scalability.
Risk Management and Quality Assurance:
Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing contingency plans when necessary.
Ensure that project activities adhere to national and global malaria guidelines.
Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement within project implementation teams.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Public Health, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in managing large-scale health projects, preferably in malaria or infectious diseases.
Proven expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
Strong experience in budget management, stakeholder engagement, and donor reporting.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello).
Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments and adapt to changing priorities.
