Job Summary
The Business Manager (BM) for Manpower Supply and Administration Services will be responsible for driving growth in the company’s outsourcing services, focusing on manpower supply, labor force management, and administrative support services for the oil and gas industry.
The BM will be expected to identify new business opportunities, manage client relationships, develop strategic proposals, and ensure the company’s workforce solutions meet industry standards and client needs.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Strategy:
Develop and implement strategies to grow the company’s client base and expand the market share in the oil and gas industry.
Identify potential clients and business opportunities within the oil and gas sector (both upstream and downstream), including onshore and offshore projects.
Conduct market research to understand trends, customer needs, and competitor activities, and leverage this information to develop a competitive edge.
Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in oil and gas companies, EPC contractors, and other relevant stakeholders.
Client Relationship Management:
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business and long-term contracts.
Act as the primary point of contact for all client inquiries related to manpower supply and administration services.
Understand client requirements and tailor manpower and administrative service offerings to meet their specific needs, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Lead client meetings, contract negotiations, and service reviews to ensure ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
Proposal Development & Tendering:
Prepare and submit competitive, high-quality bids, proposals, and quotations for manpower supply and administration outsourcing services.
Work closely with the operations and finance teams to ensure proposals align with client needs, are cost-effective, and meet regulatory compliance standards.
Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) and tenders, ensuring deadlines are met and proposals are submitted in a timely and professional manner.
Service Delivery Oversight:
Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the successful delivery of manpower supply services and administrative support to clients.
Monitor the performance of deployed workforce and administrative personnel, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) and client expectations are met or exceeded.
Proactively address any service delivery issues, working with the client and internal teams to resolve concerns quickly.
Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence:
Conduct detailed market analysis to track industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in manpower outsourcing and administrative services.
Identify competitive threats and propose strategies to stay ahead in the marketplace.
Keep up-to-date with changes in local and international regulations affecting manpower supply and outsourcing services in the oil and gas sector.
Branding & Marketing:
Assist in developing marketing strategies to enhance the company’s reputation in the oil and gas industry as a leading provider of manpower outsourcing and administrative services.
Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and exhibitions to showcase the company's capabilities and services.
Enhance the company’s visibility and brand awareness through digital marketing, partnerships, and public relations efforts.
Contract Management & Negotiation:
Lead contract negotiation discussions, ensuring favorable terms for the company while meeting client needs.
Ensure contracts are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as with internal policies and procedures.
Oversee contract implementation, ensuring that all parties adhere to agreed terms, timelines, and budget constraints.
Financial Performance & Reporting:
Develop and manage sales pipelines, set revenue targets, and track progress toward achieving business development goals.
Monitor financial performance of contracts and ensure profitability by managing costs and optimizing resource utilization.
Provide detailed sales and performance reports to senior management, highlighting opportunities, risks, and revenue projections.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, HR, and finance, to ensure seamless delivery of outsourced manpower services.
Provide leadership and guidance to the business development team, offering support for training, development, and achieving sales targets.
Foster a collaborative, results-driven environment across the organization to meet business goals and customer expectations
Qualifications and Requirements
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Engineering, or related field.
Postgraduate qualifications in business development, sales, or a related field (e.g., MBA) are a plus.
Certifications in project management, sales, or human resources management (e.g., PMP, SHRM, or similar) are desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, with at least 5 years in the oil and gas industry.
Proven track record of successfully selling manpower supply and outsourcing services to clients in the oil and gas sector.
Experience in proposal writing, tendering processes, and contract negotiations.
In-depth knowledge of the oil and gas industry, especially with regard to manpower outsourcing, labor management, and administrative support services.
Skills:
Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to develop and execute business development strategies effectively.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CRM tools, and other business development software.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast sales and revenue growth.
Sound understanding of the Nigerian oil and gas regulatory environment, including labor and health & safety regulations.
