We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: HR Officer
Location: Lagos
Primary Responsibility
Support the Human Resources department in the execution of HR functions, including HR administration, documentation, recruitment, payroll processing, performance management, and compliance with HR policies, ensuring operational efficiency and a positive work environment.
Key Performance Areas
Human Resource Administration:
Create and maintain up-to-date personnel records for all staff and consultants associated with the Centre.
Ensure consistency between both the HRIS and the physical filing system.
Draft offer letters, contracts, and contract amendment letters.
With support from the Head HR, draft consultancy contracts and ensure proper documentation and filing.
Support the Head HR in ensuring proper coordination of orientation programs and training sessions.
Ensure consistency in the implementation of HR policies across the Centre.
Coordinate all leave administration and planning across the Centre.
Maintain a tracker for all staff professional licenses, insurance, and policy renewals.
Collate and verify payroll data using Sage 300 People, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
Maintain an up-to-date tracker of staff performance management records and feedback.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Advertise vacancies on recruitment websites, social media platforms, and relevant sector-specific job boards.
Shortlist applicants and coordinate recruitment processes, including assessments and interviews.
Keep candidates informed throughout the recruitment process, ensuring proper communication and feedback.
Maintain recruitment records, including interview grids and test scripts, in compliance with HR policies.
Request and track references for selected candidates.
Assist with drafting and finalizing job descriptions.
Employee Relations & Welfare:
Address employee inquiries related to HR policies and procedures.
Support conflict resolution and employee grievance handling in line with organizational policies.
Assist in coordinating employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
Performance Management & Training:
Assist in implementing performance appraisal processes and monitoring employee performance documentation.
Coordinate training programs and maintain training records.
Compliance & HR Administration:
Ensure compliance with labour laws and HR best practices.
Prepare HR reports and maintain up-to-date employee records.
Support policy development and implementation.
Outputs Required:
Effective and seamless HR support across all functions.
Properly maintained and up-to-date HR records and compliance documentation.
Accurate and timely payroll processing using Sage 300 People.
Consistent and structured employee relations management.
Well-coordinated recruitment and onboarding processes.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 2-3 years of experience in HR roles.
Strong understanding of HR principles, labour laws, and payroll processing.
Experience with Sage 300 People for payroll management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
