ECWA Hospital, Egbe, a division of ECWA (Evangelical Church Winning All), is a rural teaching hospital established in 1952 and located in Egbe, Kogi State, Nigeria. The hospital serves a 100-mile radius of villages and small towns in a poor area. It is a 110-bed hospital on a 32-acre complex that includes 5 wards for patients, 3 Operating rooms, a Maternity ward, an Under-fives clinic, an Eye care center, an HIV/AIDs counseling center, a Physiotherapy clinic, and a dental clinic. The hospital runs a 24-hour emergency and intensive care unit. The hospital has an X-ray department with digital radiology including portable X-ray, outpatient and bedside ultrasound services, electrocardiography, gastroscopy, and HSG.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Human Resource Manager
Location: Egbe, Kogi
Description
Reporting to the Director of Administration, the Human Resource Manager will oversee the recruiting and orientation of new staff; support staff development and training; foster a team-culture; consult with Management team on strategic planning relating to staff development;
Serve as a link between the organization’s management and its employees; maintain knowledge of the Hospital’s Conditions of service.
Responsibilities
Recruitment and Staffing: He/she shall oversee the hiring process, from posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting (in collaboration with the department concerned) interviews, and selecting candidates who fit the Hospital’s culture and requirements.
Employee Onboarding: He/she shall ensure new employees are properly introduced to the company’s policies, culture, and procedures, making their transition as smooth as possible.
Training and Development: In collaboration with the management team, he/she shall assess training needs, create learning programs, and ensure employees have opportunities for career growth and skill development.
Employee Relations: He/she shall assist to resolving workplace conflicts, manage employee grievances, and ensure the Hospital fosters a positive work environment.
Compliance with Labor Laws: He/she shall ensure that the hospital is in compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal employment laws, including issues related to safety, discrimination, and wages.
Performance Management: In collaboration with the management team, he/she shall oversee regular performance evaluations, set goals, and help address any performance-related issues.
Employee Engagement and Retention: He/she shall implement programs to keep employees engaged and motivated, helping to reduce turnover and maintain high employee satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in Human resources management
National Youth Service or Exemption Certificate.
Minimum of 3 years Human Resource management or related work experience in organizing, directing, and leading others
Additional courses in subjects such as conflict management, industrial psychology or other related fields will be an asset.
High Emotional Intelligence and Employee Coaching Skill.
Full understanding of the Nigeria Labour Law.
Demonstrated decision-making skills in an organizational environment
Proven communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with management and employees; collaborate on teams and develop positive working relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to details
Ability to work diligently under pressure and maintain confidentiality
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of email, Word, Excel, Power Point; working knowledge of office equipment.
