Job Summary
The Asset/Inventory Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the management, tracking, and optimization of company assets and inventory within the asset.
This role ensures that all assets, materials, and equipment are accounted for, properly maintained, and efficiently utilized.
The individual is also responsible for implementing asset and inventory control processes, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the lifecycle management of company assets, including acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and disposal, ensuring that all assets are recorded and tracked properly.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that materials, equipment, and spare parts are available when needed while minimizing excess or obsolete stock.
Implement and maintain asset tracking systems to provide accurate and real- time information on asset location, status, and condition across the different fields and departments.
Conduct regular inventory audits and stock takes to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal control policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain detailed records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and transfers of assets and materials, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Analyze inventory data to identify trends and optimize stock levels, minimizing holding costs while ensuring the availability of critical items for operations.
Collaborate with the procurement team to coordinate the replenishment of stock items and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment based on operational needs.
Ensure that all inventory management activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
Identify risks related to asset management and inventory control, such as theft, damage, or stockouts, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Implement and leverage technology, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and inventory management software, to streamline asset tracking and inventory control processes.
Prepare and present regular reports on asset utilization, inventory levels, and stock performance to management.
Provide visible leadership to the other Inventory and Warehouse Operations team members.
Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
Possession of relevant professional certification – CIPS, is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in procurement preferably within the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Strong understanding of asset management principles, inventory control processes, and supply chain management in the upstream oil & gas sector.
Proficiency in using inventory management systems, ERP software (e.g., Oracle), and asset tracking tools for managing inventory and assets.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize stock levels and asset utilization.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including procurement, maintenance, and operations.
High level accuracy and attention to detail in managing inventory records, asset tracking, and reporting.
