Rural Agricultural Transformation and Empowerment Initiative (RATEI) was founded in 2014 and was fully registered in 2018 to raise awareness and also Improve the livelihood of Women and Youth in the rural communities, Promote Sustainable rural agricultural development, promote home gardening and domestic land utilization for food sufficiency, Promote rural income through rural farming techniques and cooperative societies. Giving hope to vulnerable people, IDPs, and PWD affected by insurgency, crisis through empowerment programs, collaboration, sustainability, inclusivity, resilience and Environmental Stewardship.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Durable Solution and Livelihood Officer
Location: Yola South, Adamawa
Employment Type: Contract
Duration of Contract: Three (3) Months Contract.
Position Overview
Durable Solutions and Livelihood Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring livelihood and economic empowerment programs for displaced populations, particularly women IDPs and people with special needs.
The officer ensures that interventions align with UN Durable Solutions Guidelines, SDGs, and national policies to promote self-reliance, productivity, and wealth creation in the project (A path to productivity, profitable, and wealth creation for women IDPs and PWD )

Organizational Requirement:
The post holder will, at all times, carry out his/her responsibilities with the utmost respect for the protection of children in accordance with RATEI Child and Vulnerable person/persons Safeguarding Policy.
The post holder will be required to respect ethnic and racial difference during and after work hours.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Development and Implementation: Design and implement livelihood programs, including vocational training, microfinance access, entrepreneurship support, and market linkages, Identify high-demand skills and income-generating opportunities suitable for women IDPs in Adamawa State, Develop business development strategies to enhance the productivity and profitability of beneficiaries and Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector to create sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Capacity Building and Training: Organize and conduct vocational skills training in areas such as agriculture, tailoring, food processing, digital entrepreneurship, and Facilitate financial literacy, savings, and business management workshops for beneficiaries, and Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to ensure long-term business sustainability.
Market Linkages and Financial Inclusion: Establish partnerships with microfinance institutions, cooperatives, and investors to enhance financial access for women IDPs, Develop and implement strategies to connect beneficiaries to local, national, and digital markets, and Monitor value chain opportunities to ensure beneficiaries can scale up and sustain their businesses.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: Develop and implement M&E frameworks to track progress, impact, and sustainability of livelihood interventions, Conduct baseline, mid-term, and end-line assessments to evaluate program effectiveness, and Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for donors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy: Engage with government agencies, humanitarian organizations, and community leaders to advocate for policies that support IDPs’ economic reintegration and Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and workshops related to durable solutions and livelihood programs.
Risk Management and Sustainability: Identify potential risks affecting livelihood projects (e.g., security, market fluctuations) and develop mitigation strategies, and Ensure the sustainability of interventions by establishing community-based support structures, such as women’s cooperatives and trade associations.
And any other task that maybe assigned to you by your supervisor
Qualifications/ Core Requirement
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Development Studies, Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related fields.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in livelihood programming, economic empowerment, or humanitarian work.
Strong understanding of IDP and refugee livelihood strategies, microfinance, and market systems development.
Experience working with women’s empowerment initiatives and financial inclusion programs.
Proficiency in project management, M&E, and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent skills in training facilitation, entrepreneurship coaching, and business development support.
