Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chemistry Teacher to join our academic team.
The ideal candidate must be passionate about Chemistry, skilled in delivering high-quality instruction, and proficient in coaching students for highly competitive local and international examinations, including WAEC, NECO, JAMB, IGCSE, SAT, and Chemistry Olympiads.
Job Description
The Chemistry Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-impact Chemistry lessons, equipping students with deep conceptual understanding, and preparing them for outstanding performance in both national and international examinations.
Develop and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons that align with WAEC, NECO, JAMB, IGCSE, SAT, and Olympiad curricula.
Utilize modern teaching techniques, including digital tools, practical demonstrations, and real-life applications of Chemistry concepts.
Conduct interactive practical sessions and experiments to reinforce theoretical learning.
Foster analytical thinking and problem-solving skills through inquiry-based and project-based learning.
Examination Preparation & Coaching:
Develop intensive coaching strategies to help students excel in Chemistry for national and international exams.
Conduct mock tests, revision sessions, and personalized mentoring for high-achieving students.
Prepare students for Chemistry Olympiads and international science competitions, providing them with advanced-level coaching and research projects.
Implement data-driven performance analysis to track and improve students' examination outcomes.
Student Development & Engagement:
Inspire students to develop a keen interest in Chemistry and STEM-related fields.
Organize Chemistry fairs, innovation challenges, and laboratory research projects to encourage hands-on learning.
Offer career counseling and university admission guidance, particularly for students pursuing careers in Chemistry, Medicine, Engineering, and related fields.
Classroom & Laboratory Management:
Maintain an up-to-date and well-equipped Chemistry laboratory, ensuring all practical sessions adhere to safety regulations.
Supervise students during practical experiments, ensuring they develop competence in handling laboratory equipment.
Keep accurate records of students' performance, attendance, and laboratory assessments.
Collaboration & Professional Development:
Work closely with other science teachers to develop an integrated STEM curriculum.
Participate in staff training, workshops, and continuous professional development (CPD) programs.
Collaborate with parents and school management to provide regular feedback on students' progress.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
B.Sc. / B.Ed in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
A Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in Chemistry at the senior secondary level.
Proven track record of coaching students for WAEC, NECO, JAMB, IGCSE, SAT, and Chemistry Olympiads with outstanding results.
Strong laboratory skills with experience in conducting advanced Chemistry practicals.
Proficiency in using technology-based teaching tools, simulations, and online learning platforms.
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
