Legal Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring the company's adherence to legal and regulatory requirements within the media industry.

Responsibilities
Stay updated on Nigerian laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the media sector.
Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures to align with Nigerian legal requirements.
Collaborate with legal and business teams to review and assess contractual obligations for compliance with Nigerian laws.
Provide guidance on contract terms and conditions to ensure alignment with local legal and regulatory standards.
Manage and oversee the process of obtaining and renewing licenses and permits required for media operations in Nigeria.
Stay informed about and ensure compliance with Nigerian licensing requirements.
Implement and maintain policies and practices to ensure compliance with Nigerian data protection and privacy laws.
Conduct privacy impact assessments and provide guidance on data protection issues related to media operations in Nigeria.
Develop and deliver training programs on compliance-related matters tailored to the Nigerian context.
Ensure awareness and understanding of compliance policies and procedures among Nigerian employees.
Establish monitoring mechanisms to track compliance with Nigerian legal requirements.
Prepare regular reports for senior management on the status of compliance initiatives and potential areas of concern specific to Nigeria.
Conduct internal investigations related to potential compliance issues in Nigeria.
Coordinate external audits and work with auditors to address compliance-related concerns
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, ensuring compliance with legal documentation standards.
Ensure the availability of documentation for regulatory inspections within Nigeria.

Requirements
About You:
Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in legal compliance, preferably in the media industry.
In-depth knowledge of media-related regulations, licensing requirements, and data protection laws.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Membership in the Nigerian Bar Association (or other relevant professional bodies).
Ability to/ Demonstrate:
Solid understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and legal principles applicable to the organization's industry.
Ability to conduct thorough legal research to stay informed about changes in laws and regulations.
