Job Summary
The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for providing strategic financial direction, ensuring robust financial management, and safeguarding the company’s fiscal integrity.
This role requires an exceptional leader with a proven track record in the power/energy sector, strong financial acumen, and the ability to influence strategic decisions that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors on financial planning, risk management, and investment strategies.
Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning to support business expansion.
Influence corporate strategy through financial insights, market analysis, and risk assessments.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Oversee the preparation of detailed financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
Drive financial performance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for cost optimization.
Implement KPIs and performance metrics to monitor financial health and operational efficiency.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management:
Manage the company’s capital structure, liquidity, and working capital to ensure financial stability.
Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, investment management, and banking relationships.
Optimize funding strategies, including debt financing, equity raises, and capital allocation.
Risk Management & Compliance:
Establish robust risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and corporate governance standards.
Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and legal advisors to maintain compliance and transparency.
Financial Operations & Controls:
Lead the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Implement strong internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
Oversee financial systems, ensuring the adoption of advanced technologies for process automation and efficiency.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and business partners.
Present financial reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors and executive leadership.
Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and collaborate cross-functionally with business units to drive financial discipline and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Master’s degree (MBA) or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Professional Certification: CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent financial certification is required.
Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 7 years in a senior executive role (CFO, Finance Director, VP of Finance).
Proven experience in the power/energy sector is mandatory, with a deep understanding of industry-specific financial practices, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics.
Strong background in corporate finance, capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, and financial risk management.
Demonstrated success in managing large-scale budgets, complex financial operations, and multi-disciplinary teams.
