Purpose Accountabilities
The Senior Cost Estimator is responsible for providing detailed and accurate cost estimates for Real estate facility minor projects.
The role involves analyzing project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and collaborating with various departments to ensure successful project execution within budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities
Develop precise cost estimates for facility maintenance and minor projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other associated costs.
Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project budgets and ensure adherence to financial constraints.
Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information and ensure cost-effective procurement.
Identify potential cost risks and uncertainties in project estimates and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor and track project costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with initial estimates and budgets.
Prepare and present detailed cost reports and analyses to management and project stakeholders, effectively communicating key assumptions and potential risks.
Utilizing advanced estimating software to generate detailed cost breakdowns and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in cost estimation and budgeting practices.
Identifying and implementing cost optimization strategies to minimize project expenditure while maintaining quality standards.
Proactively monitoring market trends and cost fluctuations to maintain competitive pricing.
Job Requirement
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Technology, or other related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project cost estimation.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to identify cost-saving measures
Proven track record of delivering accurate cost projections
Key Performance Indicator (KPI)
Accuracy of Cost Estimates: Measure the variance between initial cost estimates and actual project costs, aiming for a variance of less than 5%.
Budget Adherence: Ensure that at least 90% of projects are completed within the approved budget.
Timeliness of Estimates: Deliver cost estimates within the agreed-upon timeline for 95% of project requests.
Cost Tracking and Reporting: Provide accurate and timely cost tracking reports for 100% of active projects.
Vendor Cost Effectiveness: Achieve cost savings of at least 10% through effective vendor negotiation and selection.
Process Improvement: Implement at least two cost estimation process improvements annually.
Stakeholder Satisfaction: Maintain a stakeholder satisfaction rating of 90% or higher regarding cost estimation services.
