Job Title: Electrical Technician
Location: Ogijo, Ogun

Job Summary
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the smooth operation of electrical systems in the hot rolling mill.
This includes troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical components, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair:
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, including motors (DC, AC and Slip ring), instruments, cranes, drives, transformers, circuit breakers, and control systems.
Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment to identify faults and defects, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Troubleshoot and repair issues with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other control equipment.
Installation:
Assist with the installation of new electrical systems or machinery as needed for upgrades or new projects.
Ensure proper wiring, cabling, and installation of electrical equipment, in compliance with industry standards.
Monitoring & Operation:
Monitor electrical systems during operation and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Collaborate with other departments to optimize equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with local electrical codes and regulations.
Conduct safety checks on electrical equipment to ensure it meets required standards and identify potential hazards.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and electrical systems performance.
Prepare reports on equipment status, maintenance performed, and any issues or concerns.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose electrical issues and determine root causes quickly to prevent production delays.
Work closely with the maintenance team to prioritize and address critical issues that affect production.
Continuous Improvement:
Suggest improvements for better performance and energy efficiency of electrical systems.
Participate in training and development programs to keep updated with the latest electrical updated with the latest electrical technologies and systems.
Requirements
Candidates should possess an HND / NCE / OND or BSc qualification with 3 - 7 years work experience.
Additional Skills:
Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work on shift schedules and respond to emergency breakdowns.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Working Conditions
Work in a manufacturing environment with high temperatures, noise, and heavy machinery.
May require working in shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties during emergencies.
This role is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the hot rolling mill's electrical systems, reducing downtime, and maintaining safety standards.
