Job Title: Project Quality Coordinator

Role Summary
Husk is seeking a Project Quality Coordinator who will oversee the quality assurance and quality control processes for installing mini-grid systems.
This role involves ensuring that all installation activities meet the required standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements while promoting best practices within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Planning:
Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management plan for mini-grid installations.
Define quality metrics and establish benchmarks for project performance.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess compliance with quality standards.
Review installation processes and identify areas for improvement.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
Prepare regular quality reports for stakeholders, outlining findings and recommendations.Training and Development:
Provide training to installation team members on quality standards and best practices.
Facilitate workshops to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Liaise with project managers, site leads, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality objectives.
Act as a point of contact for quality-related inquiries and concerns.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure adherence to local, national, and international standards and regulations related to mini-grid installations.
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in quality standards.
Problem Solving:
Investigate and resolve quality issues and discrepancies promptly.
Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to avoid recurrence of issues.
Requirements
Required Skills & Attributes:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
4 – 7 years Proven experience in quality control/assurance, preferably in renewable energy or electrical installations.
Strong understanding of quality management systems and methodologies (e.g., ISO standards).
Excellent analytical, proactiveness and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Enthusiasm for promoting best practices in quality management.
Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices in the field.
Commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
Awareness of local customs and practices, especially in diverse project locations.
Strong eyesight to conduct detailed inspections and identify potential issues.
Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
Physical Demands:
Ability to walk or traverse uneven terrain at installation sites.
Climbing ladders and accessing elevated areas for site assessments.
Lifting and carrying equipment or tools
Assisting in the setup and inspection of installations as needed.
Willingness to work long hours, especially during critical project phases.
Potential for irregular schedules, including weekends and evenings.
Exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
Working in remote or rugged environments, which may require travel.
Ability to navigate construction sites and understand site layouts.
