We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for a major crude and gas pipeline project.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical oversight and project engineering support for the crude and gas pipeline project, ensuring alignment with the overall project objectives.
Manage engineering deliverables, review technical documents, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including design, procurement, and construction.
Ensure compliance with international codes and standards such as API, ASME, and ISO, as well as project-specific requirements.
Liaise with the client, contractors, and third-party stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Review contractor’s work, engineering drawings, technical documents, and ensure adherence to project scope and specifications.
Assist in procurement activities including technical bid evaluations, vendor selection, and materials management.
Ensure HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) compliance across all engineering and construction activities.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
Support contract administration, change management, and project control processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Pipeline Engineering (or related field).
Minimum 15+ years of experience in oil & gas pipeline projects, with at least 10 years in a PMC or EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) role.
Proven experience in crude oil and natural gas pipeline design, construction, and commissioning.
Strong understanding of pipeline routing, hydraulics, stress analysis, and material selection.
Familiarity with pipeline integrity, corrosion protection, and pigging operations.
Experience working in remote or challenging environments as an expatriate is preferred.
Knowledge of international standards and codes such as API 5L, ASME B31.4/B31.8, ASTM, and ISO.
Proficient in project management tools and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, CAESAR II, Pipeline Studio, or similar).
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with national oil companies (NOCs) and international clients.
Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
Previous experience managing multi-cultural teams in an international setting.
PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
