Job Title: Accountant

Location: Ejigbo - Alimosho, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team in a reputable school in Ejigbo, Lagos State.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the school's financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
• Prepare and submit tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory returns.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to the Group Accountant.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
• Perform other accounting and financial tasks as required.

Requirements

• HND/BSc or equivalent in Accounting. ACA or ACCA certification is required.
• 3-5 years proven experience as an accounting professional 
• Alternatively, master's degree in accounting with proven experience in accounting in a school or educational institution.
• Certification is not required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
