The Role

• Flutterwave is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager for Fraud and Risk Modeling  to join our dynamic team.
• As a leading player in the fintech industry, we are dedicated to revolutionizing financial services through innovative technology and data-driven solutions.
• The Manager will play a crucial role in developing and implementing risk/fraud analytics models and decisioning strategies to optimize our risk management processes and drive business growth. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Lead the development of fraud/risk predictive analytic model development across multiple products and channels. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Product Management, and Engineering to define requirements, collect data, and implement models into production systems. 
• Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform risk management decisions and strategies. 
• Monitor the performance of risk models and decisioning strategies, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization. 
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to risk management and scoring methodologies. 
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of risk analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. 
• Communicate key findings and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders through clear and concise presentations and reports. 
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives and develop risk management solutions that balance risk mitigation with business growth objectives. 
• Support regulatory compliance efforts by ensuring that risk scoring models and decisioning strategies adhere to relevant regulations and guidelines. 
• Drive initiatives to automate and streamline risk management processes, leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning techniques where applicable.
• Ensure personal information of customers, employees, and other individuals the company conducts business with is processed and protected in line with applicable data privacy policies, privacy laws, and global best practices.

Requirements
Required competency and skillset to be a waver:

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred. 
• 10+ years of experience in Risk / Fraud model development and management, analytic modeling, fraud scoring, ML or related fields within the financial services industry. 
• Strong technical skills including proficiency in Python, Machine Learning and other statistical analysis, data mining, and programming languages such as SQL. 
• Experience with machine learning techniques and tools for building predictive models (e.g., logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, gradient boosting). 
• Familiarity with risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR). 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations. 
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to effectively manage and mentor a team of analysts. 
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership. 
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. 
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and drive results through influence and persuasion.
