Job Description
The Business Application Support Administrator is responsible for providing second-line support for enterprise applications, ensuring optimal performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and aligning business applications with organizational objectives.
This role requires collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to maintain and improve business application functionality, security, and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Provide second- and third-line support for enterprise applications, ensuring timely issue resolution.
Troubleshoot software configuration, integration, and business process-related issues.
Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers for specialized support.
Monitor application performance and user feedback to identify and address recurring issues.
Work closely with business process owners to understand operational requirements.
Identify and implement new features or applications to enhance business operations.
Continuously evaluate business applications for optimization, efficiency, and cost savings.
Serve as the primary contact between the IT department and business units for application-related inquiries, projects, and issues.
Facilitate cross-departmental meetings to align application capabilities with business needs.
Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports for relevant stakeholders.
Carry out additional assignments as directed by the Lead Business Application Support.
Analyze the structure and flow of the business’ processes to identify possible application solutions.
Work with business units to identify and implement new features or applications that could enhance business operations.
Ensures that business applications comply with company IT security policies.
Carry out additional assignments as directed by the Lead Business Application Support.
Minimum Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage
Professional certifications is required.
Certification in Project management is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Technical competencies:
Basic working knowledge with one or more general purpose programming language like including – PHP, PYTHON, Nodejs, MySQL, SQL Server.
Strong understanding of enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HRMS, or industry-specific software).
Experience providing second- and third-line application support.
Ability to troubleshoot software configuration, database, and integration issues.
Strong analytical skills to map business processes and identify gaps.
Experience with business process modeling tools (Visio, BPMN, Lucidchart, etc.).
Ability to optimize workflows and recommend automation solutions.
Understanding of ITIL practices for incident and problem management.
Practical knowledge in working under the Agile Software Development Environment and hands-on experience on Agile Tools including Git, Jira, Trello, Phabricator, or Gitlab
Basic proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation.
Experience: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, and/or security software development. Ability to troubleshoot SMTP related issues.
Working knowledge of Mobile Device Management and Windows IIS Web services
Ability to work as part of a driven cross functional Networking, Operations and IT team.
