Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Asaba, Delta

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial processes, preparing accurate reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and optimizing financial efficiency within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare and maintain financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of management reports.

Accounting Operations & Compliance:

• Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
• Monitor compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
• Conduct regular internal audits to ensure financial accuracy and prevent fraud.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance:

• Manage tax filings, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws and liaise with tax authorities when necessary.
• Keep track of regulatory changes and implement necessary updates in accounting practices.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities to improve the company’s financial health.
• Ensure proper allocation and management of financial resources.

Payroll & Financial Management:

• Oversee payroll processing and ensure all salary-related tax deductions are remitted.
• Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of payroll expenses.
• Manage cash flow and ensure financial liquidity for business operations.

Team Supervision & Collaboration:

• Supervise junior accountants and provide mentorship.
• Collaborate with external auditors, banks, tax consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ICAN/ACCA certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 3years experience in accounting or financial management.
• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
