Job Title: Construction Specialist
Location: Mainland, Lagos
Job Summary
As a Construction Specialist, you will play a dual role supporting the operations and field construction teams with day-to-day operational tasks.
In this role, you will assist with project planning, cost estimation, procurement, material coordination, and communication to ensure smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Tasks:
Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine project scope and requirements.
Analyze construction drawings and specifications to accurately quantify materials required for projects.
Perform accurate and detailed material take-offs (MTOs) for various project components, including structural, civil, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical works.
Coordinate with engineers, designers, estimators, and project managers to clarify project details and requirements.
Obtain quotes, place orders, and coordinate material deliveries with vendors/subcontractors
Track inventory, tools, and materials, ensuring timely ordering and delivery.
Assist with safety compliance and ensure job sites adhere to safety protocols.
Administrative and Reporting Tasks:
Assist the construction team in coordinating and scheduling daily tasks and activities.
Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and team members to facilitate project updates.
Arrange for required inspections and monitor/update project permits
Maintain and organize project documents, plans, and permits.
Monitor project timelines and report progress or delays to leaders.
Update internal and client facing project folders including filing, data entry, and document approvals.
Maintain and update historical cost data and databases for future reference.
Preferred Qualifications
HND or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Certification in quantity surveying or construction management is an advantage.
Previous experience in a similar role.
Ability to work Monday to Friday from 12pm – 8pm WAT
Technical Skills:
Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and means.
Proven experience in construction material take-offs, quantity surveying, or a related role.
Familiarity with a variety of construction disciplines (e.g., civil, structural, MEP).
Familiarity with various types of construction projects (e.g., commercial, residential, industrial).
Proficiency in construction software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.
Soft Skills:
Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and vendors.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in quantifying materials.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects.
Creative thinker with problem-solving capabilities.
