Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced expatriate elevator specialist to join our team in Nigeria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining elevators for our clients in Nigeria.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in elevator installation, maintenance, and repair, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Install elevators and related equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Troubleshoot and repair elevator malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, cleaning, and lubrication, to ensure optimal elevator performance.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine elevator installation requirements.
Collaborate with local technicians and engineers to provide training and support.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Provide technical support and guidance to clients, responding to queries and resolving issues.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, adhering to company policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
Participate in quality control and assurance activities to ensure high-quality workmanship.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
Certification in elevator technology or a related field (e.g., CET, CEA, or QEI) preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in elevator installation, maintenance, and repair.
Proven track record of successfully installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining elevators.
Strong knowledge of elevator systems, including hydraulic, traction, and machine room-less (MRL) elevators.
Experience working with various elevator control systems, including PLC and microprocessor-based systems.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with local technicians, engineers, and clients.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
Willingness to travel occasionally to other locations in Nigeria.
Qualifications:
Experience working in Africa or similar emerging markets.
Knowledge of local regulations and industry standards in Nigeria.
Experience with elevator modernization and upgrading projects.
Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and integration with elevator systems.
Proficiency in Nigerian languages (e.g., Hausa, Yoruba, or Igbo) or willingness to learn.
