Job Title: Managing Director (MD)

Position Overview
The Managing Director (MD) will lead the operations, strategic direction, and growth of the midstream business in the Energy sector, mainly LNG.
This role is responsible for overseeing the gas processing, commercialization, transportation, storage, and distribution of LNG products.
The MD will work closely with senior leadership, customers, and regulatory bodies to ensure operational excellence, safety compliance, and sustainable growth while optimizing financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the company’s strategic vision, ensuring alignment with the overall business goals and objectives.
Provide leadership in the development of long-term business plans, capital investments, and expansion projects within the midstream sector.
Drive the company’s market position and competitive advantage by identifying new business opportunities and managing existing client relationships.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee the daily operations of the company, including transportation systems (pipelines, terminals), storage facilities, and logistics.
Ensure all midstream operations meet or exceed industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies for safety, environmental sustainability, and efficiency.
Collaborate with operational teams to continuously improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize asset utilization.
Financial Management:
Manage the company’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Optimize capital expenditures, manage cost controls, and maximize revenue streams while ensuring profitability and growth.
Provide timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting to the Board of Directors.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and international regulatory standards governing midstream oil and gas operations, including environmental regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
Develop and maintain risk management strategies to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.
Lead the company’s safety culture by enforcing and promoting a zero-incident safety program.
Stakeholder Management:
Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, government agencies, regulators, and joint venture partners.
Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and with governmental bodies.
Ensure effective communication between internal departments, clients, and external stakeholders.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, inspire, and manage the senior leadership team and other key personnel within the company.
Foster a positive, collaborative culture that emphasizes high performance, accountability, and employee development.
Oversee talent recruitment, training, and succession planning for all operational and executive roles.
Sustainability and Innovation:
Promote the integration of sustainability practices within the company’s operations, ensuring alignment with environmental goals and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Explore and implement innovative technologies that improve operational efficiencies, reduce environmental impact, and position the company as a leader in midstream solutions.
Operational efficiency (asset utilization, cost control, system reliability).
Safety performance (incident rates, compliance with safety standards).
Customer satisfaction and contract retention.
Successful implementation of strategic growth initiatives (new projects, expansions).

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is highly desirable.
Experience:
Mech, Process, Petroleum or other related tech degree. MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on midstream operations (pipelines, storage, transportation).
At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership or executive role, preferably as a Managing Director, VP, or General Manager within the oil and gas midstream sector.
Proven track record of managing large, complex operations and delivering financial and operational results.
Skills:
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
In-depth understanding of midstream operations, including marketing, commercial agreements, transportation, storage, logistics, and infrastructure management.
Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, health and safety standards, and environmental compliance within the oil and gas industry.
Exceptional financial acumen, including experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and work effectively with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and joint venture partners.
Ability to work in a small company through early phase development.
Ability to facilitate and lead key discussions both internal and external. Develop slides/presentations to provide understanding and illustration. Comfortable presenting to a diverse audience with varying degree of understanding of gas processing and commercialization.
Excellent understanding of and be able to speak to all key activities relating to the company’s dealings including but not limited to tactical and strategic activities.
Strong technical understanding of gas processing and handling.
