Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) was established in 1998 as a non-governmental Organization to serve as a collective voice of PLHIV in the Country. The Organization is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria in September 2004.
NEPWHAN is now Seventeen (17) Years Old as a vibrant patient community network in Nigeria. The network formed since 1998 has established structures at the zonal and all States including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and as well saddled with the responsibility of coordinating, supervising and monitoring activities and programs of over 1, 030 support groups membership across the Federation making it one of the biggest Patient network in Africa. Our GOALNEPWHAN has formed constituent bodies; Association of Youth Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (APYIN), Association of Women Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (ASWHAN), Association of Religious Leaders Living with and Personally Affected by HIV/AIDS (NINERELA+) to advocate and provide HIV programming intervention for the specific needs of their targets and members.

Description
The Research Coordinator (Consultant)Thisrole is meant to provide expertise when it comes to the more technical aspects of the research.
This person will be working under the direction of NEPWHAN who is the PLHIV network leading the implementation.
The research consultant will be reporting to NEPWHAN and supervised directly by the Technical Committee, with oversight from the Steering Committee, and GNP+ providing technical support.
Role of the Research Coordinator (Consultant)
Provide technical leadership in the design, development, administration, planning and implementation of the study.
Develop an inception report with detailed methodology, timelines, and field implementation budgets.
Review and finalize survey Protocol and tools in accordance with the People Living with HIV Stigma Index 2.0 guidelines and submit for ethical approval in accordance with Nigeria Research Ethics Committee guidelines.
Support and provide guideline in selecting Research Assistants and State Coordinators from the Networks of People living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) in partnership with the national core team.
Develop training slides and facilitate the conduct of the training of the Research Assistants from NEPWHAN and Key Populations Secretariat in preparation for the survey fieldwork and data collection.
Supervise and coordinate fieldwork and data collection and ensure compliance with the methodology proposed.
Provide oversight in data management (quality check) analysis and interpretation.
Facilitate review and validation meetings.
Provide a consolidated Nigeria HIV Stigma Index Report.
Provide Standardized presentation slide for the final Stigma Index Report
He/she will also perform other duties recommended by the technical/Steering committee and the external consultants GNP+.
Deliverables for Research Coordinator (Consultant)
The deliverables from the Research Coordinator (Consultant) are as follows but not limited to it.
Inception report
Review and adapt the GNP+ survey Protocol with ethical clearance and approval
Review and adapt data collection tools
Develop the training tools for data collection
Training report for data collection
Final data set in acceptable format
Draft Stigma Index assessment report
Validation Workshop – MoVs
Validation and Consensus Building Report
Final consolidated HIV Stigma Index survey report and Presentation slide
Dissemination workshop - MoVs
Key Skills and Experience
At least master’s degree in public health or any science related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading programme/project evaluation in Nigeria;
Ability to design and plan evaluation approaches and research methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative research methods;
Previous experience in community research/survey related activities.
Experience working with HIV/AIDS National response stakeholders.
Previous experience working with target population will be a plus
Previous experience using REDCAP data collection and analytical methods and other analytical methods/softwares.
Fluency in English language;
Excellent writing skills; and
Ability to work within strict/tight deadlines.
